I was invited to draw a piece for an exhibition at the Bologna children’s book fair this year celebrating the work of the great Dr. Seuss. I am a political cartoonist just as the good doctor was. Dr. Seuss, or Theodor Geisel, famously drew cartoons lampooning the ‘America First’ movement who favoured appeasement during the second world war. I thought he would have approved of my image. Unfortunately the Dr. Seuss estate is not so brave. They with drew permission for my cartoon to be displayed in the exhibition. I can hear a whirring sound coming from underground and it isn’t Horton…

How about a deck of cards - with political portraits as the face cards?
I believe he would have approved too.
